This public Lecture and Award Presentation Reception / Exhibit in the UTLC will be held at Lawrence Technological University’s College of Architecture and Design Campus.
Amy’s lecture will begin at 6pm ET. Afterwards, join the rest of our guests for the DAAA reception.
The DAA Award is given annually in recognition of the recipient’s professional, academic, and personal achievements including:
- Local, National, and International Professional Accomplishments
- Support of the College of Architecture and Design
- Charitable, Volunteer, and Community Service

About Amy: Amy has enjoyed a rewarding career over the last 19 years working for some of Detroit’s most prominent architectural firms and, most recently, within her own practice, Amy Baker Architect, formed in 2018.
Amy is a Registered Architect in Michigan that specializes in the technical development of projects with a passion for exterior enclosure detailing, building science, building codes, and construction specifications. Her professional mission is to support the architectural community in making technical tasks, like spec writing and code research, more accessible and easily understood through education and mentoring. She has successfully completed projects of many different types, scales, and complexities, including retail, higher ed, multi-family residential, entertainment, municipal, commercial office, and restaurant projects.
Amy is pleased to be on the Board of Directors for the metro-Detroit chapter of the Building Enclosure Council (BEC-GD), the Air Barrier Association of America (ABAA), the Detroit chapter of the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI), and Specifications Consultants in Independent Practice (SCIP). She is also on RIB SpecLink’s Product Innovation Advisory Board, where she contributes new ideas for improving the tools and functionality of one of the leading spec writing platforms in North America.
