Family Plant Walks

Join us at Cullen Plaza for a short and easy herbal walk along the scenic Detroit Riverfront, where attendees of all ages will learn from local herbalists how to identify and engage with plants. Guided Plant Walk & Scavenger Hunt ending in Dandelion Stew & Activity Time. 15-20 min walk through Milliken State Park, highlighting ~5 notable plants in a kid-friendly way. We will end in the fountain area to give samples of Dandelion Stew while attendees choose a small group/individual activity (printed handouts) or enjoy a guest speaker activity.
All ages are welcome. Registration is encouraged but not required.
Cullen Plaza is located at 1340 Atwater in Detroit. Limited free parking is available on-site and on nearby streets. Please allow enough time to park and head to the class meet up inside the plaza. Class will involve a short walk on smooth paths with options to walk on natural paths. Participants are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle and dress for the weather with comfortable clothing.
