It was completed in May of 1897\, served as the Third Precinct for Detroit’s Metropolitan Police Department for 63 years\, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. In early 2017\, Detroiters Matthew and Kevin Morin purchased the building and began a historical renovation to return the Station to its former glory. Now completed\, Hunt Street Station is the new home for Macro Connect\, the Morins’ education technology consulting company. It also offers substantial downtown Detroit coworking space for small businesses\, non-profits\, and independent professionals.

DESCRIPTION:Join CultureVerse and Mike Han for a VR Closing Reception during Detroit Month of Design 2023 to explore his artwork in augmented reality.\n\n\nThe Closing Reception for Mike Han: United by Design invites guests to experience an innovative virtual and digital exhibition by Mike Han in collaboration with CultureVerse featuring a virtual gallery made with SaganWorks\, a virtual reality experience\, and an AR sculpture in collaboration with BrandXR. \nDebuted in 2022\, “The House of Han from A to D” examines the physical and digital lives we live and the impact we have on our environment through an experiential diptych exhibition. Han’s work explores sustainability and our perceptions of value by creating digital and analog works of art that are separate yet deeply connected. \nThe CultureVerse mission is to serve the local and global community by expanding opportunities to access and experience projects\, storytelling\, and creative expression of artists\, educators\, students\, and preservationists. We provide technology\, training\, consultation\, and other resources in order to create equitable and sustainable opportunities. We aim to bridge the gap between creator and community so that all people may be enriched by the ever-expanding breadth of art and knowledge. \n\n\n\nIn his debut Detroit gallery exhibition\, Mike Han: United by Design\, (9/2- 9/30) Han showcases his creative practice working across disciplines inspired by his Korean heritage\, graffiti\, and modern design. \n“In this exhibition\, I’m proud to introduce The House of Han as a sustainable lifestyle brand. I think so much about how in order to create\, you must destroy. How can I add value to people’s lives without harming the environment? These challenges posed in my art I seek to address with The House of Han as a product brand\, creating sustainably at scale to enrich everyday life.” \nThe exhibit debuts various design collaborations including 3D printed tables with Haddy\, a rug collection with Gardner-White Furniture\, and new modular wall art system developed with Leon Speakers. This is your invitation to offer yourself a moment of peace as you connect with your mind\, body\, and spirit. Williams is a  yoga guide and professional ice skater with over a decade of experience who is passionate about social justice\, inspiring creativity\, and healing.  She has spent years practicing yoga instruction in the Detroit community throughout various recreation centers\, studios\, and college campuses. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE EXHIBITION \nIn My Hands Are Galaxies is Cyrah Dardas’ solo exhibition (October 14th- November 18th) of work examining ritualized art-making and relational ecosystems that extend beyond human kin. This exhibit invites viewers to consider the processes of growing\, foraging and engaging with different elements to create the tapestries and watercolor paintings as portals\, to re-establish our participation in stewarding life and re-belonging to the Earth. Dardas’ practice is a tool for remembering as a way to create an archive for a future of interspecies reciprocity. \nIn their work\, Dardas references the tradition of SWANA tapestry-making\, symbolism and stylization as a means of keeping the memory of relationships to their ancestral land intact as a framework employed through their practice for being in relationship to this\, newer home. Using their handmade botanical inks\, dyes and watercolors\, they created a series of moon studies that demonstrate a deep connection between the land to the sky.

Williams is a  yoga guide and professional ice skater with over a decade of experience who is passionate about social justice\, inspiring creativity\, and healing.  She has spent years practicing yoga instruction in the Detroit community throughout various recreation centers\, studios\, and college campuses. \n\n\n\nABOUT THE EXHIBITION \nIn My Hands Are Galaxies is Cyrah Dardas’ solo exhibition (October 14th- November 18th) of work examining ritualized art-making and relational ecosystems that extend beyond human kin. This exhibit invites viewers to consider the processes of growing\, foraging and engaging with different elements to create the tapestries and watercolor paintings as portals\, to re-establish our participation in stewarding life and re-belonging to the Earth. Dardas’ practice is a tool for remembering as a way to create an archive for a future of interspecies reciprocity. \nIn their work\, Dardas references the tradition of SWANA tapestry-making\, symbolism and stylization as a means of keeping the memory of relationships to their ancestral land intact as a framework employed through their practice for being in relationship to this\, newer home. Using their handmade botanical inks\, dyes and watercolors\, they created a series of moon studies that demonstrate a deep connection between the land to the sky.
