SUMMARY:Motor City Kwanzaa Celebration and Kinara Lighting
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the third annual Motor City Kwanzaa Kinara lighting ceremony in partnership with Alkebu-lan Village\, Councilman Scott Benson and the City of Detroit\, the Downtown Detroit Partnership is excited to host the Motor City Kwanzaa Kinara. The 30-foot-tall monument brings a celebration of African American life\, community and culture to Campus Martius Park. The ceremony will take place on a grand stage located at northbound Cadillac Square and Woodward. \nWHEN: December 26th\, 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm. The program officially kicks off\, leading to the symbolic lighting of the Unity candle at sunset (around 5:00 pm). \nDAILY LIGHTING: Don’t miss the daily lighting of the Kinara\, happening promptly between 5:00 pm and 5:15 pm. It’s a sight to behold and an experience that embodies the spirit of Kwanzaa. \nSave the date and spread the word. We look forward to seeing you there!
