SUMMARY:Good Moves\, Good Grooves:  Detroit Sports Showcase and Fun Run
DESCRIPTION:A sports sampling event featuring a family-friendly one mile fun run\, street hockey\, lacrosse\, and more\n\n\nThe Good Moves\, Good Grooves Detroit Sports Showcase and Fun Run provides a free opportunity for youth to try out a variety of sports and outdoor physical activities with partners from Project Play: Southeastern Michigan. Participants will explore sports stations throughout Milliken State Park and Cullen Plaza hosted by the following organizations:  \n\nYMCA of Metropolitan Detroit (misc sports\, yoga)\nDetroit United Lacrosse (lacrosse coaching + mini games)\nDowntown Boxing Gym (boxing demos)\nAdvancing Macomb (soccer)\nMotor City Tennis Club (tennis demonstrations)\nBoys and Girls Club of Southeastern Michigan (Esports)\nClark Park Coalition (juggling\, disk golf\, street hockey)\nFigure Skating in Detroit (fitness\, figure skating)\nDetroit Horse Power (meet a horse)\nDetroit PAL (Golf\, soccer\, T-Ball)\nOakland County Sheriff PAL (Flag Football\, playground games)\nEagle Sports Club (basketball)\nAt noon\, all participants are invited to walk or run the Good Moves\, Good Grooves Fun Run\, a one mile course through Milliken State Park and Cullen Plaza.  \n\nYouth participants will leave with free sports equipment and Fun Run participation medals (while supplies last).  \nFree Parking is available for all participants at River East Garage. \nParticipants are encouraged to dress for outdoor movement and bring water. Free water bottle refill stations are located on-site.  \nDetroit Sports Showcase and Fun Run is part of Good Moves\, Good Grooves\, a three-day family-friendly community celebration of competition\, sports and talent in Detroit that will get Metro Detroiters movin’ and groovin’ this summer. Presented by the William Davidson Foundation\, the weekend celebration will take place August 11-13\, along the Detroit Riverwalk at Cullen Plaza and Milliken State Park and Harbor in downtown Detroit.
