Grand Circus Bourbon Gardens are hosted weekly on Thursdays and Fridays from 5 p.m. – 10 p.m. \nBourbon Garden Dates and Special Lineups: \n-Thursday\, Aug. 31 – Mobile Bowling at Grand Circus Park with live music from Gwen Fox and Dennis Lee \n-Friday\, Sept. 1 – Family Night with live music from Fred Swanson’s Band. \n\nWe will have yard games\, such as Corn Hole\, Giant Jenga\, Connect Four and more for the whole family to enjoy.\n\nThursday\, Sept. 7 – Dog Days Of Summer \n\nWe encourage all dog owners to bring their pets to this special dog-themed Bourbon Garden.\n\n-Friday\, Sept. 8 – Smoked Bourbon Cocktails In The Park \n\nGuests will be able to enjoy The Grand Circus Smoked Bourbon Cocktail which embraces the flavors of fall. Made with fresh apple cider\, sweet and spicy bourbon\, and a hint of baking spice from clove syrup\, this cocktail is smoked with a cinnamon stick for a great smoky flavor. In addition\, JW Steve a renowned bourbon educator will walk guests through bourbon tastings and education throughout the evening.\n\n-Thursday\, Sept. 14 – Mobile Bowling at Grand Circus Park \n-Friday\, Sept. 15- Live entertainment from Fred Swanson’s M Affair. \n-Thursday\, Sept. 21- 1920’s Garden Party \n\nGuests are encouraged to show up in their finest 1920’s Garden Party Swag. The park will have croquet\, prohibition-era cocktails\, and a live band will be playing the greatest hits of the era.\n\n-Friday\, Sept. 22 – Detroit Fashion Designers Fashion Show. \n\nWe will have several Detroit-based designers showcasing and selling their goods in the park. DESCRIPTION:On Oct. 5\, Better Cities Film Festival and PlacemakingX will kick off a joint 10th-anniversary celebration with a FREE screening of the feature documentary “The Place Man” at Campus Martius Park in downtown Detroit. The event is co-hosted by the Downtown Detroit Partnership. \n“The Place Man” (2023)\, directed by Guillermo Bernal\, explores the roots of the placemaking movement\, which is a collaborative process of people coming together to create impactful\, community-powered public spaces. Originally launched in Detroit in 2013\, the placemaking movement\, now led by PlacemakingX\, has expanded globally\, with 33 regional and national placemaking networks. \nBetter Cities Film Festival curates and exhibits the best films from around the world\, all focused on the theme of making cities and towns better places to live\, work and play. The annual festival was originally founded in 2013 in Los Angeles and transitioned to Detroit in 2020. The full 2023 film festival will run Oct. 5-8 at various Detroit venues\, including Wayne State University and the Siren Hotel.
