DESCRIPTION:In partnership with MarxModa\, Design Core Detroit is celebrating Design in Business on Thursday\, May 4th at 751 Griswold St\, Detroit from 5:30pm – 8:30pm. \nMarxModa is Eastern Michigan’s Certified MillerKnoll Dealer\, determined to make a difference in everything they do by offering their customers a level of excellence in product and service that is unmatched throughout the industry. \nMarxModa is located on Griswold\, which was once considered Detroit’s Wall Street with 22 banks located within 2 miles. The building was built for the First State Bank by famed Detroit architect Albert Kahn and his sculptor partner Corrado Parducci. The space was later occupied by the Olde Discount Corporation in 1970 earning the name the Olde Building. In 1997 it was closed for good and remained vacant until 2016. \nOnce the building was renovated\, MarxModa’s designers and partners designed an environment where old meets new. \nAttendees will be able to tour specific spaces and learn more about their business. In addition\, there will be pop-up displays and installations by Detroit designers.

The socks made in this session will be donated to Crossroads of Michigan\, with a design focus on the classic twists and binds of tie dye.\nSunday\, September 25th- This session is all about our four-legged friends\, as we make bandanas for the rescue dogs at Happy Paws Haven Animal Rescue! Participants are also asked to bring gently used towels and rags to dye as well for the shelter to use. We will be focusing on the special technique of ice-dyeing.\nParticipants are asked to please RSVP in advance for accurate supply count and set-up. Sessions are open from 1-3 PM\, and are drop-in style.
