PJ’s Lager House’s tagline ‘Live Life Loud’ couldn’t be more appropriate. All of the elements of a good life exist in this legendary location – Great food, heart-pumping entertainment, and an always interesting and eclectic crowd.
This Corktown bar began as a neighborhood bakery and restaurant in 1914. Although it’s sign advertised it as a furniture store during prohibition, it covertly operated a speakeasy in the basement. In its current incarnation, it has hosted such great Detroit bands such as The White Stripes and Von Bondies before the rest of the world even knew their name.
As a bonus, in the basement, you’ll find Underground Vinyl. A collection of used vinyl for sale that includes gems from house music, rock, and disco to jazz and pop.
