2026 Lunar New Year Community Fair

Celebrating the Year of the Horse at Eastern Market Shed 5 on February 22, 2026
Detroit, MI — The Association of Chinese Americans (ACA) is proud to announce that it will host its Annual Lunar New Year Community Fair celebrating the Year of the Horse on Sunday, February 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Eastern Market Shed 5 in Detroit.
This free, family-friendly community celebration brings together diverse Asian and multicultural communities to welcome the Lunar New Year through food, cultural performances, traditional customs, and community engagement. Designed as an open, stroll-style market experience, the fair invites visitors of all backgrounds to celebrate the holiday together in a joyful and inclusive setting.
“Lunar New Year is about renewal, hope, and shared prosperity,” said Peggy Du, Executive Director of the Association of Chinese Americans. “By hosting this community fair at Eastern Market, ACA continues its long-standing tradition of creating a welcoming space where cultures connect, neighbors meet, and traditions are shared across generations.”
The 2026 Lunar New Year Community Fair will feature:
- Cultural performances from Asian and community groups
- Food vendors and community booths
- Interactive activities and family-friendly programming
- Opportunities to learn about Lunar New Year traditions and symbolism
